3. New Blog
I’m almost 25 and I have no idea what my “passion” in life is. No idea. However, I’ve recently been trying to figure out what it is that I genuinely enjoy doing, and writing is one of those things. I’m by no means a fantastic writer, but I think that the more you write, the better you can become (aka what every single person in writing tells you). So in addition to this blog- that I always forget to write in- I’ve started another at morewritingroom.wordpress.com (creative, right?) where I’m going to write more freely with no set genre. Some posts are short and might just be something that I wanted to tweet but 140 characters just wasn’t enough, and some are a little more detailed. It’s basically all over the place. Regardless, I’m hoping that it helps improve my writing and maybe become a “thing.” Who knows.

2. Orange is back
Don’t act like you’re not excited. I don’t care if you haven’t even seen the first 2 seasons. I know you’re all just as psyched as I am. It’s been a loooong year and waiting for this new season did NOT help, but all will be well on June 12. Netflix will once again be unleashing 14 new episodes that I will try to watching in increments, but will most likely binge-watch in 2 days and then be left hanging, alone again. BUT I did just read an article that Netflix has already confirmed a 4th season, so all hope is not lost!

3. New Music
twitterI’ve been a little off my music-game for a while, so I’m listening to new albums a little late. Whatever, at least I’m doing it now. So yes, when I finally got around to listening to Drake’s “If You’re Reading This it’s Too Late” in April (it debuted in February, but probably leaked much earlier) I tweeted every lyric like I was the first person to ever discover him. It was magical for me. Thankfully, I was reminded that I need to get my shit together and get on top of all the albums that were/are dropping. Here’s what I’m listening to right now:

And I’ll never get over how amazing Tay Swift’s new video of the remixed version of “Bad Blood.”

Sweet baby Yeezus I can’t believe I haven’t written anything since May!
Mind you, I wasn’t doing anything more important or exciting, I was simply being lazy. Oh well. I wanted to do a post about the Golden Globes, but it’s been 6 days and I’m over it. Everyone looked fabulous, except for Jane Fonda (We get it, you’re 77 and look great. Stop dressing like a slut) and my girl Lana (Mermaid chic is NOT a thing) and Keira Knightly and Rosamund Pike…ok a lot of people looked like shit, but you can do your own researching if you need hard evidence (E!Online, Celebuzz). Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Also, George Clooney’s speech was perfection and I almost cried. Ok I’m done. Onto the Top 3…

3. Great Movies
So this kind of has to do with the Golden Globes…Oh well. SO MANY MOVIES!! It’s like Oprah was giving away screen plays in 2014 (more like 2012 when production started) and brilliant actors were getting their shit together. Unfortunately I haven’t seen most of this year’s nominations/winners because I’ve been too busy watching Criminal Minds and starting projects that I don’t plan on finishing. Fortunately this gives me something to do for the next few weeks (days) and I can make some use out of On Demand (sorry about the charges mom) and my Regal Crown Club card that I have zero understanding of. Which ones am I most excited to see? Boyhood looks amazing and I love Ethan Hawke, plus Richard Linklater spent 12 years producing the film so it deserves to be watched by everyone. I’m also excited about Wild, Birdman, Saint Vincent, Selma, The Theory of Everything, Cake, Inherent Vice…ok I basically want to see all of them. There’s also a lot of new movies coming out in theaters soon that I need to see like American Sniper. I know what I’ll be doing for the rest of this disgusting winter.

2. Makeup (it’s not so scary)

I’ve always been one of those girls who didn’t really wear makeup, aside from the occasional mascara or lipstick. Before you roll your eyes, let me state that this is not one of those “oh I just don’t need makeup because my face is perfect and life is fabulous” situations. Not even close. I just never knew how to do it. I once wore blue eyeshadow to school when I was 13. Needless to say, I was scarred. I guess the wound has healed because as of late I’ve really been getting into the whole looking-presentable-for-life thing. Hours and hours of Youtube videos later (seriously, there are SO many about makeup) I started to attempt to create a “look” for myself. I’m still working on it, baby steps ok? But as of right now I’m working on brown eyeliner (more natural look) pressed into my lash line, filling in my brows and using a highlighter. It’s all I can handle right now and I think I’m doing pretty well if I do say so myself. Meaning, no one has given me the look of death…yet.

1. My Shows Are Back
I hate, no, I ABHOR the fact that cable tv shows go on hiatus during the holiday season. Sorry but I really don’t want to hang out with my family and I’m not working, so this would be the PERFECT time to air new episodes. Apparently I’m the only one who thinks so. Alas, the holidays are over and my shows (most of them) are back. I have New Girl, Mindy, About a Boy, MasterChef Jr. and Parks & Rec (FINALLY) back on Tuesdays (thank Yeezus for DVR); Criminal Minds, Modern Family, Workaholics and Broad City on Wednesdays; Thursdays are for DVR’d shows; and Shark Tank to wrap up the week on Friday! Even the weekends keep me going with SNL on Saturday (duh) and Girls on Sunday night. All is good again. And it’s nice to have something new to look forward to besides sleep…

No words. Excuse me while I go wipe the drool off of my face…

2. When your iPod Shuffles to an Unexpected Song

Happened to me this morning.  I woke up this morning on the wrong side of my pillow top mattress, remembering that I had to watch my dog this weekend (aka walk him at 6AM).  I didn’t have time to grab coffee and realized that I had not yet broken in my new pumps as I was running out the door.  As I sped out of my neighborhood, knowing that I was going to be late for work, my iPod began blaring one of the few songs that can actually make my day amazing: Hustin’ Remix with Rick Ross, Young Jeezy and Jay-Z.  It came on and I was immediately elated, forgetting that I would be late to work, had no coffee and had to come home at lunch to walk my annoying pooch.  This isn’t the first time this has happened either.  This song just does it for me.  It brings out my inner hoodrat self and can even surpress my urge to hit every single car on the road.  It is the crack to an inner city drug dealer: MONEY.

not sure why this came up when I googled”hustlin remix,” but I went with it

1. When Said Song Comes Back on in the Middle After a Long Day of Work

So you’ve long forgotten about jamming out to Ricky Ross a short 8 hours ago and have sunken into the never-ending-work-day slump.  You throw your shades on even though the sun has long since gone down, to avoid speaking or looking into the eyes of another being.  The car takes a little bit too long to “recognize” your iPod, but when it does, all faith is restored: the beginning of Jay-Z’s verse of Hustlin’ is blaring through your speakers.

Call me crazy, but my day JUST got a million times better.  Forget about post-work blues, I’m ready to hit the bars for happy hour.  I could care less that people are cutting me off, or that I have to wait in the dumbest and longest lane of traffic, or that I have to walk my needy pup when I get home, because right now I’m singing with Jay-Z and Ricky Ross about owning resorts and islands.  Excuse me while I hit repeat.
