5 New Products to Review!

It would be an understatement to say I enjoy shopping. Not just for clothes, either – I just recently moved so I’ve been big into purchasing items for storage, decorative pieces, and boring stuff like a microwave and, ya know, groceries. These are some of my new purchases and my current thoughts on them.

Crystals

In my last post, I talked about how I was trying to get into the crystal game because I wanted to see what all the hype was about from my hippie friend (still love you, Claire!). I purchased Black Tourmaline, Citrine, and an assortment called the New Beginnings Crystal Healing Kit which contained Green Aventurine, Crystal Quartz, Green Calcite, Kyanite, and Howlite, which are all supposed to help bring peace, creativity, and protection (among other things) to a new home. I followed all the directions on every website I used to research these crystals and “cleansed” them by burning sage around them (there are other ways to cleanse), and “setting intentions” for each one. While I felt super weird sitting in my apartment and doing all this, I did feel a sense of calmness. It’s only been about two weeks, and I’m still not sure if I believe all the hype, but I can’t really knock it until I truly try it!

Glossier Invisible Shield SPF 35

I typically only use SPF on my face in the summer (I know, I know, I should use it everyday), but I wanted to test this one out on my face to make sure it didn’t break me out and I could return it. So I’ve been using it every morning for about a week and haven’t had any breakouts! Major shock since just about every SPF moisturizer I’ve tried out there messes with my skin. The only downside I would say is that the container/amount of product is much smaller than most SPF moisturizers and there is no way to tell how much is left in the bottle, potentially leaving you in a sticky situation during a spontaneous beach trip. All-in-all, I’d recommend!

Trilogy Rosehip Oil

After (another) glowing recommendation from my friend after seeing amazing results on her skin, I decided to purchase some organic Rosehip oil to work into my skincare routine. I’ve been using it for about two weeks now as a sole moisturizer (after toner) in the AM and under my Glossier Priming Moisturizer Rich in the PM for some extra love. This is the first oil that I’ve used on my sensitive skin that hasn’t made me breakout so it’s a win in my book! All I can say is that I see the glow in my face my friend was talking about!

Nike Air Force 1 High

I just copped this kicks last Saturday whilst roaming the city in the gorgeous 80 degree weather. I initially went into the store to ask about the Fila leggings I’ve been dying for, but sadly they didn’t have my size (but I found them online!). Naturally I browsed the store after my upsetting realization and came across these beauties. After sending multiple pictures to my friends and getting (some) stamps of approval, I took the leap and handed over my credit card. First impressions: I love the olive color and the Velcro strap (tied in the back) and they are super comfortable!

Lo and Sons Catalina Deluxe Weekender Bag

Ok so, I didn’t necessarily just get this item, but it’s definitely worth talking about. In an ideal world, I would own a fabulous LV duffel and look as chic as possible at the airport or on short trips. However my bank account will not allow it. BUT Lo and Sons has got me covered on an amazing bag. Their most popular item, the Catalina Deluxe Bag, has just about everything you want, and then some. There are pockets galore on the front, back, and inside, and on some sizes (I have the large version) there is a bottom compartment that is perfect for shoes and/or makeup/accessory bags. I have to say it’s been a life-saver on quick trips to NYC or when I need to schlep all my laundry home to my parent’s house. Compare sizes here and see which one best fits your needs!
